Accessibility Statement

Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church wants everyone to be able to worship, connect, and find information on hopesdact.org, including people who use assistive technology. If anything on this website is hard for you to use, we want to help.

Our commitment and goal

We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. This is a goal, not a claim of full compliance. The website has not had a comprehensive accessibility audit and is not certified. We will keep improving it as we learn of problems.

What we have done

• A “Skip to main content” link for keyboard users.
• Visible focus outlines when moving through the site with a keyboard.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images, including our logo and event flyers.
• Color and contrast adjustments for headings and text.
• Layouts that adapt to phones, tablets, and larger screens, and to zoomed text.
• Reduced animation for people who turn on “reduce motion” in their device settings.
• Labeled embedded forms, with a phone alternative on our form pages.
• Automated accessibility checks and manual spot checks of our main pages (most recently in October 2026). These checks do not catch every problem.

Known limitations

Some parts of the website come from other services. We choose these services carefully, but we cannot fully control how accessible they are:

• Video player (BoxCast): some player controls and countdown text may not work fully with keyboards or screen readers. Services are also available on YouTube.
• Forms (Google Forms): our Prayer Request and Connect With Us forms are provided by Google inside our pages. Some screen readers may have trouble moving into or through embedded forms. If you have any difficulty, you can call or email us instead.
• Digital Bulletin (FlipHTML5): the page-turning bulletin may be difficult to use with a screen reader, keyboard, or screen magnifier.
• Event flyers: some event details appear in images. We include the key details in text alternatives or on the page.
• Page headings: some pages still have more than one main heading, which we plan to correct.

Requesting an accessible alternative

If you cannot use part of this website, please contact us. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the format that works best for you, such as large print, a text version, or information read over the phone. We will do our best to provide the information another way.

An accessible PDF version of each week’s bulletin is available by email on request.
